Observation notes: Found on/near forest floor. Forest includes mainly poplar, saskatoon, choke cherry, and hazelnut, along with various low-growing shrubs. Weather was fine and hot. When touched, the caterpillar would stiffen and curve.

Coordinator notes: This caterpillar is looking for a place to pupate. This species feeds on poplars and willows. It most likely has come down from the poplar trees you mentioned and is looking for a place to pupate.
