Observation notes: Have spotted two of these 3 inch caterpillars in the last several days; both were moving towards my house from landscaped areas. One was crossing a concrete walk from a boxwood shrub, the other (in the pictures) was coming from an area with a birch tree, hydrangea, and other shrubs and crawling near the house's foundation to get underneath a wooden deck.
