Delaware Skipper
Anatrytone logan

Observation date: June 27, 2013
Submitted by: lmreid71
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Small skipper was seen by several of us on a butterfly count at the Guadalupe River State Park. We were unable to get a positive ID on it in the field. I'm noticing a smudgy look to the top of the abdomen. That, along with the yellowish-orange color and the dark edges of the wings leads me to think it's an Arogos Skipper.
Status: Resident

Coordinator notes: Aragos Skipper and Delaware Skipper are very similar on the undersides, and both possibly found in the sighting locale, and in similar habitat. The lack of lighter-colored scaling on the wing veins leads me to believe this is a Delaware Skipper.
