Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: This butterfly was found on the campus of Central Washington University in Ellensburg, WA on a flower bed at the entrance of the Language & Literature Building right across from the Library. My friend and I were walking through there to get to the Library and he noticed this fairly large butterfly fluttering around until it landed on this flower bed. This is my first picture ever of a butterfly. Might consider doing this is as a hobby from now on. I posted the images on my facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/olywaguy/posts/10201620209009513?notif_t=like if you want to see more images. The weather wasn't too bad considering there is a wildfire going on half an hour from here and the day was very smoky and cloudy. Seeing this butterfly made our day.

Coordinator notes: Fairly large? This is the largest butterfly in our state! Definitely keep your camera ready for others, we would be very interested in what you find.
