California Sister
Adelpha californica

Observation date: July 20, 2013
Submitted by: rgpickett
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: This looks like a Bredow's sister, but instead of orange in the outer wings, it was yellow. It was hovering over a little creek. It was a hot Sierra afternoon, probably in the high 80s low 90s.
Status: Resident
Verified by: Ken Davenport
Verified date: July 21, 2013
Coordinator notes: Bredow's Sister is a Mexican species, not in the USA. Recent scientific work shows our California Sister is a different species from bredowii and the Arizona Sister.
