Observation notes: I included the 2nd photo to give you an idea of the numbers that I saw today. That close-up in the 2nd picture was a small area of what must have been thousands of these butterflies. I also took a video that I could upload if you are interested in seeing it. Day was overcast, humid and quite warm. We saw these as we were taking our dogs for a walk on one of the back roads where we live on the Pinawa Channel near Lac du Bonnet and Pinawa, in Manitoba Canada. These butterflies were everywhere... on different wildflowers. The 2nd photo shows them congregating in the ditch along the road. There were also covering the flowers in my flower garden at home.
