Observation notes: Mid-day temperature over 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Wind 0 to 3 MPH. Numerous scattered clumps of this yellow flowering plant were growing near the pond, but this one clump had over a dozen caterpillars feeding on it. Some had apparently consumed all of the blossom heads on the stalks they had climbed. About a dozen caterpillars were on the plant.
