Observation notes: No more than 3-4 of these seen all day. Appeared as dark brown, fast butterflies that patrolled distinct territories centered on several shrubs. Regularly alit on shrubs around 4-5' above the ground, where they could usually be approached quite closely. In openings in Ponderosa pine/Douglas-fir forest.
