Observation notes: The weather was extremely hot, humid, and clear on the nineteenth, which is the day I am almost sure I took this photo. The sighting occurred in the early afternoon, at around 1:00-3:00pm, EST. This American Snout stayed with me for a long time in that characteristic manner of fast, flitting flight from one object to another. He probed my sweaty shirt a couple of times, and was a great poser for the camera.
