Two-tailed Swallowtail
Papilio multicaudata

Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Warm, sunny day. This little guy was just climbing around on an old pallet out by the chicken coop, didn't really seem to be doing anything particularly special. The only plants around were cactus and cedar trees (Hill Country/Central Texas). There may have also been mallow and pigeon berry plants nearby. What caught my attention most was the single horn on it's head. I've nicknamed him/her the "Unicorn" until I get a definite identification. I did not disturb him, only photographed and left him to his business. I've asked the local nursery owners and showed pictures, but so far no one has been able to identify this little guy.
