Observation notes: Habitat: oak grassland fragment in development. Plants nearby: Blue Oaks (Quercus douglasii) (prevalent species of oak right here), one or two Valley Oaks (Quercus lobata), somekind of wild perinnel lupine (Lupinus spp.) lots of Coyote Brush (Baccharis spp.), a very few tarweeds (Hemizonia spp.) (blooming), some kind of wild aster (blooming, purple wildflower about 1/2 inch across with yellow/orange centers and pale small leaves) and a lot of some kind of pale blue wildflower. Also a few weeds such as yellow star thistle and a weedy yellow-flowered mustard, both blooming.
