Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: On Pipvine plant.I am not sure what kind of butterfly I have (maybe 2 kinds) as listed above I know for sure I have had Pipevine Swallowtail but I have a book that shows a different Swallowtail which looks like a Polydamas Swallowtail which is listed differently than the Pipevine Swallowtail?
Status: Resident

Coordinator notes: Both Battus polydamas and philenor are reddish and gregarious after hatching from their eggs.I decided this was Battus polydamas over Battus philenor primarily on the foodplant shown. There are several photos on the BAMONA website of B. polydamas larvae and adults in TX, including the Houston area, on Aristolochia littoralis.
