Observation notes: It acted like any butterfly. First seen in the middle of a 14" diameter stump near a small stream, then on some flowers (in photo) awhile later about 30 yards from the stump. Weather: Sunny, some clouds, light breeze, temp about 80 F.

Coordinator notes: Correctly identified by the submitter (typo for the name hylas (bylas)). Hylas is our subspecies of Polygonia faunus. This is a male and appears to be missing its right antenna.
