Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: I live in an area with a lot of open space next to a field where some sort of grain is grown. I have some flowers and about 8 spruce trees in my yard. I have never seen one like this before and cannot find a picture of it. It also had red on its head. I am sorry to only have half of it but I chased it around the yard and it did not light on anything but this cotoneaster hedge. The picture was take from underneath the hedge from about 4 or 5 ft away and I could not tell if I even had it in focus as it was a very sunny day and I was looking up into the sky. I didn't get to observe any behavior as it flew away into some other part of my neighborhood.
