Coordinator notes: I identify this as S. zerene based on the black pattern and smaller light spots associated with it on the hindwings. It is very common in Routt Co. and although S. callippe does also occur there, it flies earlier and is normally very worn by late July, and has some differences above that this one does not show. The undersides are more diagnostic on Fritillaries so if you take a picture for submittal, try and show the underside instead. They will be more definite for identifications.
