Streaked sphinx
Protambulyx strigilis

Observation date: December 24, 2011
Submitted by: stilwellsa
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: This moth was found dead in a housing development. Unfortunately I did damage the forewings trying to expose the hindwings. The moth was found near shrubs including star jasmine, hybiscus and ixoras. This area is about 200 feet from a pond cypress, oak and slash pine preserve with native shrubs and wildflowers.
