Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: The white band on this moth is what caught my eye first. The moth was charcoal colored and large and chunky looking. It's flight was very swift and strong and I was lucky enough to get 3 pictures. It like the pink and red flowers in my yard. I have seen the normal "hawkmoths" for WI but never this one. I live Medford WI which is in the north central part of the state. My coordinates are N45*06.895' W090*24.099'.
