Observation notes: Nice day around 80, found in shade in country yard by Cavalier ND, around size of adult thumb, touched lightly w/ stick & it wiggled arching back & forth, checked a little while later 1/2 hr to hr & it was crawling away, slowed when we approached & then almost seemed to want to burrow under some dry grass but moist soil underneath, came back around 15 min to 1/2 again & it was gone, almost seemed slightly irridecent w/ pink & almost fleshy color than green although the photo shows more green

Coordinator notes: commonly called a four horn Sphinx because the caterpillar has the four horns.
