Coordinator notes: Female. This is our smallest Fritillary. The submitter suggested S. edwardsii which is much larger and is found at lower elevations at the flanks of the higher mountains. S. mormonia is at home in most of the mountains above 8000 and ranges to well above timberline on the alpine tundra.
