Observation notes: On the first day(7-25-2011) my wife noticed, that morning, this on a tree next to our house,it was just like a caterpillar in length and was orangish tube shape. Yesterday morning(7-26-2011)there was small wings protruding from the top of it around the time 9:30am. At around 6:30pm this is the way it looked. I don't know what kind this is and why there is another one attached to the end of this one.It was on the bottom of an tree about 18" off the ground. Is the bottom one just the shell?
