Coordinator notes: Coordinator 1: Need to see the underside to determine. Coordinator 2. While the underside would be helpful to differentiate between Eastern Comma and Gray Commma, the upper side of the hindwing is also a factor in the id. According to information on bugguide.net, the Gray Comma lacks a center dark spot on the upper side of the hindwing, while Eastern Comma has this spot. Using this id strategy, this sighting is a Gray Comma. Putting photos of the uppersides of these two species next to each other bears this out. http://bugguide.net/node/view/469671
