Observation notes: Following an afternoon rain, this was a sunny evening with a few clouds and light breeze, about 75 degrees. The butterfly was sitting very still in the evening sunshine. Nearby were Oak, beech, maple, redbud, maple, locust, buckeye, violets, blue phlox, spiderwort, fire pink, may apple, greek valerian, wild geraniums, waterleaf.
