Observation notes: A cool day with a few Marbles flitting about. Some nectaring, but more commonly resting on the ground in refuge from the wind.

Coordinator notes: Thanks for sending your photos and submissions. I collected Kelbaker Rd. in 1978 well before it became a National Preserve. A great place for butterflies including California Patches! You may have been too early for those. It is also good for black colored coloro form "clarki." I will generally publish National Park records of interest in the Season Summary, especially Death Valley NP since it is so poorly known.-Ken Davenport
