Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: 10am so morning, noticed it flapping wings in grass and trying to get away from another creature, which ran away (I think it was one of those small anole type lizards)It was by my plumbago bush. Thicker body than a butterfly. Thought at first it was a Buckeye butterfly, but after looking those up they are brown color background. About 3" across top of wings. I rescued it, took a pic, released in backyard by my flowers. It did fly away quickly, low flight at the time. I am so curious at what it is! PLEASE HELP IDENTIFY FOR ME. I really don't care if this is published, only doing to know what it is. I live in central Florida, United States
