Observation notes: Weather was mild, about 70º and sunny, with a light breeze. The butterfly alit on the trail surface. Hoping to encourage it to open its wings for my photography, I gently pushed my index finger under its head and forelegs. It climbed on my finger and "posed" for several minutes until I placed it on the ground, and it flew away.
