Observation notes: We have seen this moth other years at this time of year. Not being very knowledgeable we thought it was a species of hummingbird. It was oour family Dr who clued us in during a conversation about hummingbirds. I then decided to research the hummingbird moth and found your website. It seems to love the impatients and could really care less how close you get to it, although my pictures are not very good, taken with a 9 pixel camera I was hoping it would help. It has only been this time of year when the plants are at their best that I have seen this creature. Thank you for any info you may have concerning my identification, right or wrong The weather has always been hot and sunny .
