Observation notes: Sunny, hot and humid, about 85 degrees. The butterfly was flitting among wingstem and ironweed at the edge of a thicket of mixed weeds and trees, and briefly rested on a leaf. Nearby were mixed grasses, red clover, maple, locust, oak, walnut, hawthorn, grape vines, and poison ivy.
