Observation notes: A sunny day expected to be hot. Animal seen about 11 a.m. in a moist area. This individual attracted my attention because it appeared bluish in flight (male). Host plant "Turkey-tangle Fogfruit" [Phyla nodiflora].

Coordinator notes: ID based on locality. Pyrgus albescens tends to occur further sounth in the San Joaquin Valley. Where both occur, genitalic examination is required to know what you have-Ken Davenport
