Observation date: October 17, 2009
Submitted by: fragglecat
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: On our way to Western Days in Yorktown, TX. There were hundreds if not thousands of butterflies crossing TX Hwy 72. It was impossible not to hit them. It made me sad; I photographed this one on the bumper and kept it. To date, it is still in a jar by my desk. At the time I thought it was fall migration of monarchs. The group may have been mixed species. The day was clear and sunny.
