Observation notes: Very warm day. This appears to be a white female version of the Orange Sulphur butterfly. Shapiro states that up to half of females are white. It's the first one I've seen in Mendocino County. All the range maps and USGS state that Clouded Sulphurs don't make it to this area so that would eliminate the white female of that species.

Coordinator notes: Thanks for the pertinent comments. But be aware Colias occidentalis has white form females too. Yours doesn't look like theirs-Ken Davenport
