Common Checkered-Skipper
Burnsius communis

Observation date: June 27, 2016
Submitted by: jetboulder@aol.com
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: found and photographed by Nora Krantz
Status: Resident
Verified by: mikefisher
Verified date: July 16, 2016
Coordinator notes: No, that is not a blue Nora but a newly emerged male of the Common Checkered-skipper. It looks like it is on the fruit of its hostplant (Mallow - earlier they have small orange flowers). The pupal shell was probably near the base of that particular plant.
