Observation notes: Found this butterfly on the Big River Haul Road earlier in the year. I was confused as to it's identity not having seen a checkered skipper before. After finding a Common Checkered Skipper recently I've become a little more comfortable about this observation. Low flying. Seems to have the "X" on the FW.
