Observation notes: Day time, had rained recently. Found in my back yard. It was quivering(shaking and didn't seem to want to fly. Plum tree in yard and large pine trees in area.

Coordinator notes: Sorry for the excessive delay! This is a related species, the Ceanothus Silkmoth (Hyalophora euryalus), which is in the same genus (one taxonomic grouping above species) as the Cecropia Silkmoth, but with a range much farther west.
