Observation notes: Found the cocoon in my fern back in January (the first photo). The fern frond become weak after a storm, so I transferred the cocoon to an insect case. I figured the little lady hadn't made it into adulthood, but I found her hanging out this afternoon! I was so excited! She's flying fine. I perched her on the side of my house when I noticed a neighborhood cat getting interested.
