Observation notes: Observed while birding on Christmas morning, weather exceptionally warm (mid-to-upper 70's f.) and muggy. Habitat: grassy roadside/levee adjacent to lake, swampy area, bottomland hardwood forest.

Coordinator notes: I see no hint of orange showing through from the upper wings, so I think this is C, philodice, instead of C. eurytheme. This is at the periphery of the range for C. philodice. SAT
