Observation notes: I spotted this somewhat battered but still active butterfly on our lantana this morning. She was very difficult to photograph to the picture is no super clear. Even while on a flower, which was just for a second or two her wings were in consonant motion. To my delight, however, as skittish as she was on more than one occasion she flew within inches of my face, looking directly at me.
