Date notes: I found the caterpillar and he made himself into a cacoon the same day. I found a picture of him on your site. I have seen an adult monarch a few days before and that is what he is, also.

Observation notes: The gold designs on the cacoon do not show up on the pictures very well. They are like the shiny mineral gold on my ring. It has bee in the 80s here which is a little cooler than normal for this time of year. thankfully. The Monarchs like the Dill that I plant for them. I also have Morning Glories.
