Observation notes: This is one of five virtually identical looking caterpillars feasting on tomato plants in my backyard, in Keller, TX. Their unusually large size and a sighting of a very large moth in my backyard about a year ago gave cause for possible connection. After a few failed general search engine attempts, I found an alphabetical listing of Texas insects and the description of the first variety of moth listed matched precisely; thankfully, they are big AND their name says so because my research was done in a matter of minutes.
