Observation notes: I found this catepillar in the late evening "11:30"pm on sept. 3 2015, eating leaves on my red maple tree, it was a clear, humid night . His movements were slow and smooth until i moved the branch he was on, then he went into a spastic jerky dance for a few seconds when he calmed back down and went back to eating the leaves.
