Observation notes: Evening, approximately 7:00 PM, temperature, mid-70's, no rain. I felt this may be worth reporting for I found the caterpillar on cattail (Typha latifolia), and I've not seen that reported as a host plant for this species. I thought that perhaps it was on the plant for some reason other than feeding, but I collected the caterpillar, and it has been feeding on the Typha.
