Orange-barred Sulphur
Phoebis philea

Observation date: August 16, 2015
Submitted by: Ellen Mee
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: This butterfly was sited mid-morning on a very hot and sunny day on my popcorn cassia. It continued to land fly around and land on this plant for approximately 10 minutes. It is possible that it was depositing eggs since the cassia is a host plant, but I did not find eggs or other evidence to support this suggestion.
