Observation notes: Went to a seminar on Bats in my area and while waiting took a bunch of photos and caught this gem. This was shot in Morven Park-LEESBURG, VIRGINIA-just outside the carriage house.It actually flew and around and posed for me. Always on the ground and mostly in the gravel. The size of wing span about 2 inches. It was a clear night about 75 degrees. Our house is a registered Monarch Waystation, Pollinator Habitat, Audubon at home Wildlife Habitat and Bird Friendly habitat. This sighting was about 20 miles west of our house.
