Observation notes: Observed while birding Catahoula NWR Headquarters Unit. Seen at NW corner of refuge loop on the banks of Cowpen Bayou. Habitat in the immediate vicinity: bottomland hardwoods, cypress swamp, roadside edge habitat/grassy, open water. Conditions: approx. early morning, warm, sunny, not much wind.
