Coordinator notes: The Acmon Blue only occurs in lowland western North America. Our similar species is what is being called the Lupine Blue - P. lupini. It was named before the host plant was known so this is one of the unfortunate naming mistakes in science. The more appropriate name is the "Buckwheat Blue" as the host plant are buckwheats (Eriogonum), not lupines. The Lupine Blue should apply to Plebejus icaroides (AKA Boisduval's Blue). The name of P. lupini should be emended to "P. alupini." Mike
