Observation notes: On a bright, sunny afternoon I was photographing an eastern black swallowtail butterfly on a lily at Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet, SC. It wasn't until a few minutes later that I discovered another creature was simultaneously feeding. At first I thought it was a hummingbird. It wasn't until I did some research once I got home that I learned it was a clearwinged moth. I was happy that neither seemed bother by my presence and I was especially delighted to get a photo of them both feeding at the same time.
