Observation notes: Extremely small butterfly, when wings were open, matched photos of w.p.b. exactly, e.g., blue hair. There were a lot of them at Alviso and someone I recently met leads a wpb trip there in the fall. This photo was taken walking out along the dikes from the marina, but the Don Edwards Nature Center's outside-the-gates parking lot is where I first saw this butterfly. It was full of wpbs last fall. Although wpb is of course on the Santa Clara cy list, BAMONA does not have a county record, so I pulled out this old photo. The blur at the bottom is discernible as another WPB.
