One-eyed sphinx
Smerinthus cerisyi

Observation date: June 09, 2015
Submitted by: mothroth
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: The moth seemed to be motionless on the ground. I thought it was injured so I put it in a glass and took it inside. It had a large head and looked unusual so I photographed it. While inside the glass the moth began to flutter its wings quickly, seemed agitated or nervous. All of a sudden it scrimmaged its way out and flew to a corner. When I realised that it was able to fly a little, I released it outside.
