Observation notes: Weather: P. Cloudy, temp: mid 80's F, wind: calm Butterfly on 10-foot wide hiking trail within moderately dense oak and hardwood habitat. Butterfly remained on rock for several minutes while photographed. Butterfly appears heavily worn with hindwing damage. Minimal white spots on forewing point toward Northern although color of club is questionable. White or reflection is on bend of club and appears to point toward Southern. Don't know if lack of white spots is from wear or the butterfly is actually a Northern.
