Observation notes: I saw this beautiful moth fluttering all over the catnip I had growing in a front bed of our yard here in El Reno, Oklahoma. It didn't stay still for any length of time. Periodically it would stop long enough for me to snap a photograph. I believe the day was a typical warm summer day. The catnip/flower bed was in a shady spot in our front yard, though.
