Saddleback Caterpillar Moth
Acharia stimulea

Observation date: September 14, 2014
Submitted by: Ptrellis
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: This caterpillar was on the back of a domesticated raspberry plant. Looks dangerous because of all the prickly projections. Need to know if it is harmful to raspberry or blackberry plants. Weather was dry and warm, about 70 deg. The caterpillar did not move at all in half an hour.
